Why This Year Looks Different: Extending Gratitude Beyond a Season

For the past few years, I have created seasonal Bible reading plans that focus on Thanksgiving, especially in the fall. November, in particular, has been a sacred space for gratitude—reflecting on what God has done, how far He has brought us, and the beauty of giving thanks in all things.

And I still believe in that.

But something shifted in me.

As I sat with the word “New Beginning” for this year, I began to reflect on where God has led me since 2019. Each Word of the Year—Purpose, Vision, Intentional, Resilience, Finish, and now New Beginning—was not just a word. It was a season of my life. A shaping. A stretching. A spiritual becoming.

And with that reflection came a question:

“What if Thanksgiving was not just for one season, but for all of them?”

What if gratitude was not just for November, but for January, when we remember our divine purpose?
Or for July, when we thank God for sustaining us through storms?
Or for March, when clarity finally breaks through the fog?

This year, instead of a short-term Thanksgiving plan, I felt led to walk through the entire year as a testimony of thanks. Not just for what God has done—but for who He is, what He is still doing, and how He keeps drawing me back to grace.

Each word—each season—is layered with thanksgiving, praise, and deep-rooted gratitude. And this plan allows us to sit with each one slowly, intentionally, and reflectively.

It is not a break from gratitude.
It is a deeper kind of gratitude.

A yearlong offering.
A heart posture.
A sacred return to the rhythm of “thank You, Lord.”

So if you are new here, welcome. And if you are used to seeing Thanksgiving in the fall—do not worry.
It is still here.
It is just spread across the months, like seeds planted in every season.
