My word for this year (2022) is resilience.
I cannot even tell you how far off the rails 2021 went. It all went downhill after Snowmageddon in February
of 2021. Read
all about that here.
As I stated about my
word for 2021, I struggled with the pandemic and I wanted to regroup and
begin working on the plan I had for 2020.
I had everything set for 2021 and then, I broke my arm. Once again, everything thundered to a halt
and I was left wondering… “What is going on with my life?”
In December of 2021, I was almost ready to say… “Forget a
Word of the Year. This stuff is cow dung!” But, I couldn’t let myself do that. I said, “If I get a word, good. If not, good, too.”
Once again, I thought of completing my project from
2020. I laughed it off and moved on from
it. I have concluded that I need to wait
on God to know when to finish it. The
last week of December, I was writing on my dry erase board to write some notes
about the Pauline
Epistle Bible Reading Plan I worked out for this year, and I said to
myself, “Man, listen, I am one resilient person.
That’s when my word came to me… Resilience!
I will use my resilience to be strong and better this year!
Michael Rutter told me what resilience was.

Martin Luther King Jr. is my inspiration for this year.

As usual, I created an ACRONYM for RESILIENCE. This reminds me of 2 Peter 1:3 CEV (We have
everything we need to live a life that pleases God. It was all given to us by
God's own power, when we learned he had invited us to share in his wonderful
goodness.)

I am ready to be resilient and accomplish some great
things this year.
Nelson Mandela reminds me that it doesn’t matter how many
times I fall, it’s getting back up that makes me successful.

Mark Nepo sums resilience up brilliantly.

And the Apostle Paul directly tells us in God’s Word that we
are resilient!
