Getting to Know the Shepherd Devotion (The Story)

I was a member of a Facebook group called Christian Faith Warrior & Faith Happy Planner, War Binder, Faith Journal (no longer existing).  It was a fellowship of Christians who endeavored to express their faith, trust, and belief in God through Planning, Journaling, and similar endeavors.

One of the members asked if a Lent list was coming up.  She wondered if there was a Scripture Writing plan for the Lent season.  I responded, "We don't have one, but I might be able to put one together.”  I was urged in my spirit to add that I could put one together.  I hadn’t intended to add that portion, but I did.

In all honesty, I was hoping they would say, “No, that’s okay.”  But, as God would have it, they said they wanted one.  So, I prayed and asked God to give me something, and God, being God, did just that.

At 10:42 PM on that Wednesday night, ideas started hitting me left and right.  I was in bed with the lights off and ready to sleep, but I couldn’t stop the flow of the spirit.  I got up and wrote everything that came into my spirit, including researching on my phone.  It ended around 12:26 AM, Thursday morning.

God is so amazing.  On that Thursday, my place of employment was closed and I didn’t have to go to work. So, my staying up late wasn’t a bad thing.  God always has a plan.

The content underwent three revisions before it was finally done.  What I have now isn’t what I started with.  It looks totally different.

Please download it for yourself.  Also, please share the link (https://tinyurl.com/get2knowtheshepherd) to this post with your family, friends, and enemies.

I pray this devotion blesses you.
