Giving
Thanks When You Feel Strong, Weak, or Somewhere In Between
Gratitude is a spiritual weapon. It is
not just a feeling we experience when life is going well—it is a faith-filled
declaration that God is good, even when life feels hard. It is a deliberate
choice to look up, speak life, and root your resilience in remembrance.
If you are walking through the 12
Months of Holy Grit journey or simply navigating a season that requires
strength, this 7-day gratitude challenge is your invitation to slow down,
reflect, and give thanks for what God has done, is doing, and will do—even in
the messy middle.
Why
Gratitude Strengthens Resilience
Gratitude does not deny hardship. It
simply chooses to focus on the God who remains faithful in the midst of it.
“Give thanks in all circumstances; for
this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
— 1 Thessalonians 5:18
“I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your miracles
of long ago.” — Psalm 77:11
When we give thanks:
- We break the spiral of discouragement.
- We make space for joy in hard places.
- We build spiritual memory—and faith for the next
battle.
How
This Challenge Works
Each day includes:
- A short gratitude prompt
- A related Scripture
- A journaling question or reflection
- A one-line declaration of thanks to write and
speak aloud
You can do this in your journal, your
notes app, or even out loud during prayer. The goal is intentional
thankfulness—even if it is just one sentence a day.

hoped for…” — Hebrews 11:1

Final
Word: Gratitude Builds Grit
Gratitude is not just about feeling
better. It is about seeing clearer.
It is about remembering that God is still moving, even when you are
still waiting.
It is about giving your heart space to breathe when pressure wants to squeeze
it.
Whether you wrote one line or filled
several pages—you practiced holy grit this week.
Because faith that thanks God in the
middle of the story?
That is the faith that finishes strong.
