The Navigator Essentials: Evening Routine: Rest in the Presence of God

End With Peace: A Purposeful Wind-Down for the Soul

Let go of control. Breathe deeply. Speak a bedtime prayer that hands the entire day back to the One who kept you.

Reflection:
You are safe to stop. You are allowed to rest. God never sleeps, so you can.

This is not just the end of a day—it is a moment of surrender. A quiet return to the arms of the One who walked with you from sunrise to now.

Rest is not weakness—it is worship. It says, “I trust You with what is unfinished.”

Practice:

  • Sit in stillness for a moment, breathing slowly and deeply.
  • Whisper or write a personal prayer—or speak the one below before you lay your head down.

Bedtime Prayer:
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for carrying me through this day.
Thank You for Your presence in what I saw and what I missed,
what I did well and what I still need grace for.
I release my striving, my worrying, and my wondering.
I receive Your peace, Your protection, and Your rest.
Let my sleep be deep, my mind be quiet, and my spirit be refreshed.
And if I wake tomorrow, let me rise with purpose again.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Evening Affirmation:
I rest fully known, deeply loved, and completely held by God.
