Day 11: Elementary Schools

Day 11: Elementary Schools

Scripture:

But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 19:14

Prayer:

Lord, we thank You for elementary schools.  Thank You that they are places where young children can begin their learning.  Let these places be safe for all the students, teachers, and people who may enter it.  Fill them with excellent people who will care for all who enter.  Be a fence around the schools and keep them safe from any harm or danger that may come.

Thank You for elementary aged students.  They are sweet, young, and still innocent.  We pray that You will protect them as they go to, from, and through school.  Help them learn to behave themselves in an orderly manner.  Help them learn the foundational tools and skills they will need to go on to become better students.  Give them excellent teachers who will encourage, inspire, love, correct, and discipline them as they grow into lifelong learners.  For any that may have a negative view of school and education, we pray that You place excellent teachers, students, staff members, administrators, and others in their life to show them that school is not negative.  And when they have obstacles, negative days, and bad moments, send someone to them to remind them of the triumphs, positive days, and amazing moments.  Bless them to have an excellent school year full of fun, learning, and growth.  We pray that their hearts are open to be an excellent student this year.  Thank You.  Amen.

Go a Step Further:

Go to an elementary school in your area and pray for the school, administrators, teachers, and staff and pray this prayer.

Study The Armor of God

A Quick Explanation of this month's plans.

When I first went through the book of Ephesians (at the beginning of the year), I focused on Being A Mature Christian because Ephesians 4:2-3 stood out to me.  But, last week, when I was planning, Ephesians 6:11-18 (The Armor of God) stood out to me.  So, I decided to do both studies this month.

Here is the Bible Reading Plans for The Armor of God based on Ephesians 6.

This one is all of The Armor in one plan.

The Armor of God

These are 9 monthly Bible Reading Plans, one for each piece of armor, plus three weapons that the Apostle Paul mentions in the verses. (I explain them below.)

Download the Bible Reading Plan PDFs below.

The Belt of Truth

The Breastplate of Righteousness

The Shoes of the Gospel

The Shield of Faith

The Helmet of Salvation

The Sword of the Spirit

These three items listed below are weapons that I feel the Apostle Paul mentions in Ephesians 6:18.  I felt lead to include them because I feel that they are vital to our Christian walk.  If we use these three weapons, we can Be Mature Christians Who Are Transformed, and Walk in the Fruit of the Spirit.

The Missile of Prayer
I labeled this weapon the missile of prayer because missiles are guided airborne ranged weapons that lead to penetration, perforation, destruction, and mutilation.  I believe pray does all those things... Penetrate our worries, fears, and doubts.  Perforate our heart, souls, and minds.  Destructs our negative thoughts. Mutilate our anxiety, frustrations, and situations. (*)

The Bayonet of Perseverance
I labeled this weapon the bayonet of perseverance because bayonets are daggers or spear shaped weapons that are used for hand-to-hand combat that puncture, perforate, separate, lacerate, and mangle.  I believe perseverance does all those things... Punctures our doubts. Perforates our fears. Separates us from our self-doubt. Lacerates our limitations. Mangles our negativity. (*)

The Grenade of Supplication
I labeled this weapon the grenade of supplication because grenades are explosive weapons or projectiles that are thrown that fragment, traumatize, and incinerate.  Again, I believe supplication does all those things... Fragments the fallow ground of our hearts. Traumatizes the negativity in our spirit. Incinerates  the fearfulness of our minds. (*)

Prayer and supplication are two different things.  Supplication is to entreat someone in power for help or a favor. (*)  Prayer is thanksgiving, adoration, confession, supplication, communication, worship, and petition. (*)

Day 9: For Parents

Scripture:

Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one's youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate. Psalm 127:3-5

This can help you to pray more effectively and with greater intentionality, leading to a more fulfilling and rewarding prayer life.

How to Start Worshipping by Journaling Verses from the Book of Psalms

1. Choose a Psalm to focus on

The first step in worshipping by journaling verses from the Book of Psalms is to choose a Psalm to focus on. You might select a Psalm that speaks to your current circumstances or resonates with you on a personal level. Alternatively, you could work your way through the entire book, reading and reflecting on one Psalm each day.

2. Read and reflect on the Psalm

Once you've chosen a Psalm to focus on, take the time to read and reflect on it. Consider the themes and emotions it contains and how they relate to your own life and experiences. As you read, take note of any verses that particularly speak to you or evoke a strong emotional response.

3. Write down your thoughts and feelings

After reading and reflecting on the Psalm, take out your journal and write down your thoughts and feelings. You might choose to write a summary of the Psalm, record any verses that stood out to you, or write a prayer or meditation inspired by the words you read. Don't worry about making your writing perfect or polished; this is a personal and private practice, and there are no rules or expectations.

4. Review and reflect on your writing

As you continue to journal verses from the Book of Psalms, take the time to review and reflect on your writing. Consider how your thoughts and feelings have changed over time and what insights you've gained through this practice. Use your journal as a tool for self-reflection, and take note of any patterns or themes that emerge in your writing. Pay attention to the words and phrases you use, and how they reflect your state of mind and emotions.

Through this process of reflection, you may discover new insights about yourself, your faith, and your relationship with God. You may find that certain Psalms resonate with you more deeply than others, or that your reactions to certain verses change over time. By reviewing and reflecting on your writing, you can gain a deeper understanding of your spiritual journey and the ways in which it is evolving.

Remember that there are no right or wrong answers when it comes to journaling verses from the Book of Psalms. This practice is a personal and private one, and it's up to you to decide how to approach it. Some people like to write out full prayers or meditations, while others simply jot down a few words or phrases that capture their thoughts and feelings. The important thing is to be open and honest with yourself, and to use this practice as a way to deepen your spiritual connection and gain new insights into your faith.

5. Make it a regular practice

To fully benefit from worshipping by journaling verses from the Book of Psalms, it's important to make it a regular practice. Set aside time each day to read, reflect on, and write about a Psalm. You might choose to do this in the morning as a way to start your day with a sense of peace and purpose, or in the evening as a way to wind down and reflect on your day.

6. Share your experience with others

Finally, consider sharing your experience with others. Talking about your practice with a friend or loved one can help you to deepen your understanding of the Psalms and gain new insights into your faith. You might also consider starting a journaling group or participating in an online community of believers who are exploring this practice together.

Worshipping by journaling verses from the Book of Psalms is a powerful way to deepen your spiritual practice and connect with God. By taking the time to reflect on these ancient words and write down your thoughts and feelings, you can gain a deeper understanding of yourself, your faith, and your relationship with God.
