πŸ“… Day 3: Fear God

Scripture:

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.”
Proverbs 1:7

Prayer:
Lord, we come to You today with reverence. We acknowledge that You are holy, sovereign, and worthy of our deepest respect. We pray that students, teachers, and everyone connected to education would develop a healthy fear of You—a reverence that leads to wisdom, humility, and true understanding.

Let this fear of the Lord be the foundation upon which all learning is built. Remind us that no amount of knowledge is complete without acknowledging the One who created it. Let our children not only strive for good grades, but for godly character. Let our teachers not only prepare lessons, but prepare hearts.

Empower Christian students and staff to stand boldly, yet graciously, for their faith. When opportunities arise to share the Gospel or be a light in dark spaces, give them courage. Let them not be ashamed or afraid. May their reverence for You outweigh the fear of public opinion.

Amen.

Go a Step Further:
Encourage someone today to choose godly wisdom over popularity. Speak a word that reminds them that fearing God is not about being scared—but about honoring Him above all else. Let your words and actions reflect a life grounded in awe of the Lord.

πŸ“… Day 2: Love & Fairness + Learn Discretion

Scriptures:
“To receive instruction in wise dealing, in righteousness, justice, and equity.”
Proverbs 1:3

“To give prudence to the simple, knowledge and discretion to the youth.”
Proverbs 1:4

Prayer:
Lord, we pray today that students, educators, and leaders alike would walk in love, justice, and fairness. In a time when the world often confuses compromise with compassion, remind us that true love tells the truth, and real fairness is rooted in righteousness. Let every classroom be a place where students are treated with dignity and respect—no matter their background, needs, or learning pace.

We also ask that You would teach discretion. Help students to guard their words, their actions, and their choices. Let them be slow to speak and quick to listen. Form in them the habit of thinking before acting and praying before reacting. May the fruit of the Spirit rise within them—especially self-control, patience, and kindness.

Give teachers discernment as they guide young hearts. Let correction be wrapped in compassion. And let discipline be paired with dignity. Above all, Lord, teach us all to treat one another with the same grace You show us.

Amen.

Go a Step Further:
If you are around children or teens today, take a moment to affirm a loving or fair behavior you see in them. If you are able, share with them what it means to treat others justly, even when no one else is watching. Let today be a lesson in quiet wisdom.

πŸ“… Day 1: Thank God for Learning + The Future Generation

Scriptures:
“To know wisdom and instruction, to understand words of insight.”
Proverbs 1:2

“Come, children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD.”
Psalm 34:11

Prayer:
Lord, we thank You for the beautiful gift of learning. We are grateful that You have created our minds to grow, our hearts to receive, and our spirits to discern. Thank You for blessing us with educators who pour into others daily so that knowledge and wisdom may increase.

Today, we also lift up the next generation. We ask that You would raise up children, teens, and young adults who are wise beyond their years, deeply rooted in truth, and full of compassion. Let their learning go beyond books and tests—let it become a path to purpose and peace.

As we enter the 2025–2026 school year, we pray that every learner will grow—not only in knowledge, but in character, maturity, and grace. Use every classroom, every lesson, every mentor, and every challenge to shape them into citizens who walk in integrity, serve with grace, and lead with wisdom. May they become bold voices of hope in a world that needs light. Thank You for what they will become.

Amen.

Go a Step Further:
If you drive by a school today—pause and whisper a prayer for the students and staff inside. If no schools are on your route, take five minutes to look up the name of a local campus and lift it up by name in prayer. Ask the Lord to pour wisdom and blessing over its future generation.

πŸŽ΅πŸ™ Opening Song of Prayer

As you join me in praying for the school year, I invite you to begin each day with a moment of worship and stillness.

🎧 Play this song before your daily prayer—let it prepare your heart and create a sacred space for intercession.

🧎🏾‍♀️πŸ’¬ Also, pray this simple covering prayer aloud each day over your student(s), educator(s), or school leader(s):

“Lord, I lift them up to You today. Cover their mind, guide their heart, and protect their steps. Let wisdom lead them, peace ground them, and grace go before them. I entrust them to You completely. Amen.”

Let this become your daily rhythm—a holy beginning before you speak a word of intercession.

πŸ“– Introduction: 27 Days of Prayer for Schools 2025

Starts: July 29, 2025 • Ends: August 24, 2025

I always seem to fully realize school is about to start when we are about 31 days out. For some reason, that number settles it in my spirit—and that is when the burden to pray gets loud and clear.

Back in 2018, the Lord laid it on my heart to pray intentionally over every aspect of the school year. Since then, I have committed to setting aside focused days of intercession each summer. This year, we are covering 27 Days of Prayer—one day for every step closer to the first day of class.

So, starting Tuesday, July 29, I will be posting:

  • A daily Scripture
  • A targeted Prayer Focus
  • A simple Challenge to Go a Step Further

I invite you to join me. Whether you are an educator, student, parent, support staff member, or simply someone who believes in the power of prayer—I welcome you to pray with me. Speak these blessings aloud, repost the prayers, or quietly whisper them as you pass by schools. Your prayers matter.

This time is personal, sacred, and powerful. It will be a blessing to me, and I pray it is a blessing to you.
