Scripture:
“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.”
— Colossians 3:23
Prayer:
Lord, today we lift up every first-year teacher—those stepping into the
classroom with excitement, questions, hopes, and fears. Steady their hearts and
remind them that they are not alone. Fill them with confidence, not just in
their training, but in Your calling.
Equip
them with patience, creativity, and resilience. Let their classrooms be spaces
of joy, discovery, and growth. When they feel overwhelmed or under-supported,
surround them with mentors who will build them up and help carry the load.
Teach
them to see each student as an individual with a story and a purpose. Help them
to balance classroom management with compassion, lesson plans with real-life
moments, and personal growth with professional excellence.
May
this year not just be about survival, but about becoming—becoming the kind of
teacher who changes lives. Thank You for their willingness to begin. Walk with
them every step of the way.
Amen.
Go a Step Further:
If you know a first-year teacher, take a moment to check in. Ask how you can
support them—whether with supplies, prayer, a listening ear, or a meal after a
long week. Let them know their efforts are seen and appreciated.
