Prayer:
Lord, we pray for those who lead at the college and university level—deans,
associate deans, and department chairs. These are individuals responsible not
only for academic structure but for setting the tone, supporting faculty,
guiding student success, and responding to challenges with wisdom and grace.
Give
them discernment as they manage competing demands and oversee decisions that
affect both people and policy. Remind them that their leadership carries
weight, not just in what they say, but in how they listen, lead, and serve.
Strengthen
them to lead with integrity. Help them foster academic environments marked by
excellence, innovation, and compassion. Let them not become overwhelmed by
budgets, bureaucracy, or burnout. Anchor their purpose in something higher than
position—let it be rooted in justice, wisdom, and service.
Amen.
Go a Step Further:
If you are part of a university community, send an encouraging word to a
department chair or dean. If you are not in higher education, take a moment to
pray for one by name. Academic leadership carries hidden burdens—your prayer
can provide unseen strength.
